Cranshee

Here is a recent page from my webcomic, Wooden Rose. It was inspired by illuminated manuscripts like the Book of Kells, which I am a big fan of. Cranshee is a word I invented for a creature I made up. It is based on two Gaelic words: crann, which means 'tree', and sidhe, which means 'people of the mounds', in other words, faeries. If you want to know more about my tree faeries, read my comic :)

  1. Nice bit of work. The book reminds me of Gile's demon handbook and encyclopedia on the TV version of Buffy the Vampire Slayer :-) (but it is true!)
